Description: Selected from Spain and improved over several years, Texas A&M University released 'Texas Early Grano' in 1944. Grown for its large tops and high yield, its extra-large bulbs can grow to weigh up to a pound. With white flesh and straw-colored skin, this sweet onion will shine cooked or fresh. Great disease resistance. As a short-day onion, it grows best from fall to spring in the southern states, south of the 35th parallel. Not recommended for cold-climate areas unless greenhouse grown.
