| Alsobia dianthiflora, commonly known as Lace Flower, represents one of the two species within the Alsobia genus. Originating from Mexico, Guatemala, Costa Rica, and parts of Central and South America, this tender succulent boasts delicately fringed petals, enhancing its appeal as an indoor plant. Its trailing nature makes it an excellent choice for hanging baskets. Alsobia dianthiflora is a plant that loves to multiply! With its stoloniferous growth habit, it produces rapidly extending stems from the leaf axils. These stems culminate in plantlets at their tips, which readily root to form a dense cluster of offspring plants. This compact plant with small leaves showcases striking large white flowers with intricate frills, making it a beautiful addition to any collection. When cultivated indoors, Alsobia thrives in environments with warmth and humidity, adapting well to artificial lighting or placement on a sunny windowsill. It flourishes in well-drained, moderately moisture-retentive soil, similar to the blends commonly used for African Violets. |
