Commonly known as Rattlesnake plant, Calathea lancifolia is a prayer plant, the common name for plants that tend to fold their foliage as night falls. Prayer plants include plants in the following genera: Calathea, Maranta, Stromanthe, and Ctenanthe. Calathea are grown for their beautifully ornamental leaves. The long slender leaves have wavy edges, and have a lime green base with deep green oval markings on the top surface, with burgundy undersides. Calathea lancifolia has been reclassified as Goeppertia insignis. |
