| Castle Spire® is an improvement over other blue holly because of its superior branching and shinier foliage. Bright red berries and red fall color provide another season of interest. A great foundation plant, specimen or hedge plant can be used as a replacement for upright yew. It is best to plant broadleaf evergreens in colder climates so that they are not exposed to winter sun or wind. Adaptable to wet soils. Hybrized by Holger Hachmann, of Germany.
